Parel Cha Raja

By the grace of Shri Ganesha, in a mill town like Parel, the festival of the “Parel Vibhag Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, Nare Park” — run by ordinary mill workers — began in 1947. All the workers came together on the Nare Park ground, and from that gathering this mandal grew into a banyan tree.

Today the mandal is not limited to the Ganpati festival alone — it works in the social, educational and sporting fields too. As it reaches towards its centenary year, every worker stands committed.
